!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Not sold on the Ranchero name (should be Mustang based IMO to use that name) but a Focus based truck would be a nice return of the small pickup.

This is the G8 Ute all over again. They won't do it.

Well the G8 Ute was going to happen but Pontiac died. Probably would have actually sold pretty well too.

The problem with trucks this size is that with 4-door cabs, the bed becomes basically useless, essentially an open air version of the stubby trunk on an Indian or US-market subcompact sedan.
With a 2-door cab, though, they can be very useful runabouts for small businesses and fleet customers. As well as for private buyers that want an affordable, utilitarian truck and aren’t interested in cosplaying construction worker while commuting to their office job.

If a car with the Pontiac badge could have sold well at the time, Pontiac would not be dead. It was quite delusional of GM to try to turn the slow selling G8 into a car family as the ship was 3/4s into the ocean already.
